The memory foam mattress has a strange, but harmless odor that lasts for a couple of days and then goes away. The odor is harmless as indicated in the instructions sheet. The memory foam mattress is VERY comfortable... it molds to my body and I fall asleep so quickly and I wake up refreshed and ready to start my day. Outstanding product and I'm glad I invested my mommy's money in it. I have found that I have a deeper sleep and do less "tossing and turning" at night. As well, I love not needing a boxspring, there is so much storage space underneath the bed and I can actually fit underneath my bed for the first time in years (I'm a pretty small person as is). It's also very easy to assemble, NO tools needed. The bed is pretty heavy so you may need two people or more to help move it, but the mattress foundation can be assembled by yourself; very simple instructions. I only gave it four stars because in the product description it says "feel like you are floating on a cloud" and also the mattress and mattress foundation came in two separate shipments. First, I am very aware that I am sleeping in a bed, not a cloud, it's not THAT comfortable. Also, it would have been more convenient if both the mattress and mattress foundation came on the same...
